Washington – A Virginia contractor hired by the Interior Department to renovate the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool at President Trump’s request was thrown off Monday when a representative of President Trump revealed to him the ultimate plan for the pool’s renovation involves it reflecting President Trump’s face at all times.
Virginia All-Star Contracting’s owner, Hal Hamber said he told Mr. Trump’s representative, “It’s impossible, is the thing.” The representative, whose identity Mr. Hamber did not reveal, said, “Just get it done,” according to Mr. Hamber.
The Pool’s renovation has been hounded by delays and cost overruns, to the point where staff members at the Interior Department have expressed concerns. According to President Trump, everything is on schedule and under budget, and the Pool will look absolutely “fantastic” when the renovations are completed.
“We’re going to have the best reflecting pool in the WORLD!” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social, his social media app. “And you-know-who’s face will be the MAIN ATTRACTION!”
We are providing live updates on the United States war with Iran.
Washington – In a stunning turnabout, President Trump informed the American press Sunday night that he had apparently changed his mind on whether Iran, a country of 90-plus million people, would ever be allowed, as far as the United States is concerned, to obtain a nuclear weapon. He now says Iran can have such weapons, as he is “sick and tired” of negotiating with the Middle Eastern country.
“You know what, fuck it,” Trump said when speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, seeming to come to a conclusion right in that moment. “They can have them. What do I care? They can have them, they can use them. I really don’t care anymore.”
When reporters pressed him on why he had changed his mind, Trump responded, “I’m just sick of it, frankly. I thought it would be easy. It’s not easy. It’s not easy, and I don’t want to do it anymore. And it’s going to take them a while to build the thing, and I’ll be dead by then. Plus, I’m also a sociopath, as you know, so things like, millions of people dying, things like that, they don’t really bother me the way they might bother you.”
A reporter asked him about the effect his newfound change of heart would have on the standing of America in the eyes of the world, whether it will be seen as having backed down to a foreign adversary and getting nothing in return.
“Look, I make deals,” Trump said. “It’s what I do. I make great deals, and frankly, this is a great deal, too. They get what they want, and I get what I want, which is to not have to deal with this nonsense anymore.”
